Casona Sforza (boutique beach hotel by Alberto Kalach)

Certainly one of the most fascinating architectural photography projects for us, this new hotel in Puerto Escondido is a true piece of art that was an honor to capture.

Casona Sforza is a new boutique hotel in Puerto Escondido, designed by a Mexican architect Alberto Kalach, founded by the entrepreneur Ezequiel Ayarza Sforza.

It is a great example of how architecture can be more than just an amazingly beautiful product of human creativity, but also blend into the surrounding tropical environment in the most natural way, keeping in mind sustainability and supporting local communities - and all of that located on the beautiful beaches of Oaxaca.

All of the above made it a big challenge to photograph this hotel in its best way: unique arched shapes, huge spaces, 11 suites of various sizes and views, lots of beautiful interior details (designed by MOB Studio), and everything looks amazing in the sunset light! (Which in Puerto Escondido lasts very short).

It took several shooting sessions, lots of help of the amazing staff of the hotel, and some decent amount of editing hours (days?) to complete this hotel photography project, but with the way it’s designed and built, one could always find new angles and shapes to capture here at Sforza.

As I’m seeing it only with the eyes of a professional photographer, here are some articles you could use to get more details about the architecture, design, location and story behind Casona Sforza: Wallpaper Magazine, Sleeper Magazine, AD Mexico, AD Russia.

Sforza is open for bookings, and its restaurant is open to public so if you have a chance and are in Puerto Escondido, go and enjoy it yourself (the pool feels refreshing, too).
